1 Ramp Length Calculator

Enter your rise (the height from the lower ground up to the doorway/porch). Based on the ADA 1:12 slope.

At the ADA 1:12 slope, every 1" of rise needs ~1 ft of ramp. Code requires a flat rest platform about every 30" of rise (that's where turns & switchbacks come in).
Minimum permanent ramp length (1:12)
21 ft
no rest platform needed

2 Which ramp system is right for you?

All three are ADA 1:12 modular ramps that can be straight or turned. The difference is the material and where they're meant to be used. Tap one to see its layouts.

↻ Straight or with a turn — what's the difference?

A turn doesn't change the ramp itself — it's the same modular sections and the same rest platform, just oriented to change direction so the run fits your space. Pick Straight if the ramp can head in a straight line away from the door; pick a turn if it has to bend to avoid a wall, railing, or property line.

Example: on a 5'×5' rest platform the ramp can continue straight off the porch, leave the platform at 90° (to either side), or double back 180° — same platform, just turned the way your site needs. The exact left/right direction is chosen at install, so just match the overall shape here.

Diagrams are top-down catalog views. Straight runs show exact sections; turns & switchbacks show how the ramp bends around rest platforms.
